Automatic MOT History Population#32

Pull MOT history automatically from https://www.check-mot.service.gov.uk/

Hi @Kevin! Thanks for the suggestion. We actually already have full approved access to the DVSA and plan to have full support for MOT history and (when the data is available) service recommendations too! We hope to be able to generate Tasks in the Custodian platform based on the recommendations you get at your last MOT!

Still most definitely planned and actually required for our upcoming insurance product targeted in the middle of the summer.

We will get to this, we’ve just been working hard on getting our iOS application out #52 and The Showrooms upcoming launch #14

Hi @Bailey.davies , yes we’ve completed the integration and now are planning out how to integrate it into the user interface for users.

We need to make a nice way for people to sync the information and choose what they do and do not want to include :) - we’re already using the system as part of our insurance product to help us broker better policies for our users! We just need to expose it to everyone now!

I will update this thread when we have more information about it.

I’m excited to share we have some early designs for MOT data syncing.

It’s not all decided on yet as you’ll see there are some variations between the design but we have had a fair few enquiries about this of late so I wanted to share our progress in the meantime and look for any interim feedback should there be any.

Hello all! I know its been a while… but if you had a car on the platform with a registration number… you will have received an email telling you that this is now in the platform and you MOT entries will all have been added to your cars.

Real time syncing is coming soon so new MOT’s will appear shortly after you have them done automatically but we need to replicate the whole DVSA database in order to do that as their rate limits on the government API are too low for us to use it directly to do real time updates for all the cars on the platform.

So that part is coming soon :)
