Annual service countdown incorrect#171

I have set my annual service date under Insights to 1st Nov 2026. This is 333 days away. However in Custodian it displays “1 year and 333 days left” which is incorrect.

Had a look and that field that you completed is supposed to have the date of your last annual service added to it, we calculate the date based on the date you add + 1 year.

We’ve updated the text on the modal to make it clearer.

The easiest way to edit it is on the Car’s technical information page where there is a field called Last Annual Service Date. If you add the date of your last annual service in there it should update everything correctly.

Our intention is to set this value automatically when you add an Annual Service to your history file.

Hi Jeremy. Thank you for your response. I understand now, however updating the annual service date modal is a little bit unclear.

I think it would be better to say something along the lines of:
“Enter the date of your last Annual Service to keep your records current.”

Or alternatively provide a toggle to allow users to decide whether to enter a custom future annual service date, or just their last service date +1 year as it is now.

Input the date of your last Annual Service.

Regarding the toggle suggestion, thats definitely an option which I’ll keep in the spec for ongoing improvements.
